Exercise: review a business and renewal

Follow a business from the public directory to staff review without changing its status.

Try this exercise in the demo

Opens the demo in a separate window. Place it beside these instructions to follow along. Sign in if prompted.

Start this exercise

Choose Try this exercise in the demo in the online guide. Sign in if prompted. The correct staff section opens with these instructions beside it. Collapsing the panel does not close your record or clear form entries.

Use clearly fictional records. If an example record is missing or your role cannot view it, skip that inspection and read the related guide; do not create records or change permissions to complete this exercise.

Practice steps

  1. Choose a clearly fictional business in Businesses and note its name.
  2. Open its record. Locate the certification status and expiration date.
  3. Look for supporting documents and any renewal submission. If none is present, note that rather than creating one.
  4. Open the public directory separately and search for the same business. If absent, consider publication and visibility settings.
  5. Open Certifications and identify the difference between new intakes and renewals.

Check your understanding

  • Is a saved profile necessarily public? No.
  • Does a submitted renewal mean approval? No.
  • Can a stored Current label override an elapsed expiration date? No; the effective display accounts for expiration.

Finish

You can locate a business’s certification status and expiration, and explain why it may be absent from the public directory.

Close any opened record or report. Leave the sample data unchanged. Completion is for your own learning; this guide does not issue a certificate or record course completion.
