Exercise: compare the two referral workflows
Tell business referrals apart from workforce referrals.

- Access

Start this exercise
Choose Try this exercise in the demo in the online guide. Sign in if prompted. The correct staff section opens with these instructions beside it. Collapsing the panel does not close your record or clear form entries.
Use clearly fictional records. If an example record is missing or your role cannot view it, skip that inspection and read the related guide; do not create records or change permissions to complete this exercise.
Practice steps
- Open Business Referrals and inspect an existing fictional request. Identify the requester, selected business, project, and status.
- Read the history without sending or resending.
- Open Workforce Referrals and inspect an existing fictional referral if permitted.
- Identify the client, job order, client response, and employer release stage.
- Explain which workflow you would use to request a contractor and which to refer a job seeker.
Check your understanding
- Business referrals connect requests with businesses.
- Workforce referrals connect clients with job orders through review and controlled release.
- Neither workflow itself guarantees a contract award or a hire.
Finish
You can explain when to use a business referral versus a workforce referral and identify the stages of each.
Close any opened record or report. Leave the sample data unchanged. Completion is for your own learning; this guide does not issue a certificate or record course completion.
