Understand settings and operator boundaries
Know which settings affect the office and which controls remain protected.
- Where
- Staff portal > Settings
- Access
- Administrative permissions apply. Mailbox administration remains separately locked.
Office settings
Settings includes organization information, directory behavior, classifications, users and roles, and operational information. Review the selected section before making changes.
Expired and suspended certification behavior controls whether those records are shown or hidden in the public directory. This does not change the underlying certification decision.
Users & Roles provides the staff directory and hierarchy. Review the account and permitted role before recording an assignment.
Protected functions
Email & notifications remains locked in this demo. Do not try to reconnect Microsoft 365 or create another notifications account to work around the lock.
Backup and retention information is not proof of a running backup schedule. The existing full data export is manual and operator-controlled. Hosting, recovery keys, and deployment are outside this user manual.
Before saving
- Confirm that the change is intended for the entire office rather than one record.
- Record the previous setting and reason through your office process.
- Use the relevant Save control and verify the result. Do not change settings as part of the read-only training exercises.
